Conservation and reducing the carbon footprint by becoming an entirely solar facility is the latest in a series of innovations introduced over the past ten years by El Camino Self Storage and El Camino Wine Storage.

Ample sunshine sometimes sends the Atascadero and Paso Robles thermometers over 100+ degrees.  For El Camino Wine Storage, the sun is now keeping the wine inside their wine storage facility at a crisp 55 degrees.  This isn’t air conditioning; this is solar powered refrigeration at El Camino Wine Storage, the only solar-powered wine storage facility in the county.

Wine storage requires refrigeration at 55 degrees and a constant 75% humidity to protect the cork.  Air conditioning cools the air by removing humidity, which is fine for most purposes, but dries out the cork.  El Camino Wine Storage offers individual wine lockers with individual access in a secure building.  Each locker can house up to sixteen (16) cases and are popular with wine enthusiasts.  The facility has also opened triple lockers for more extensive wine collections.

In El Camino’s main self-storage areas, climate controlled units help to preserve furniture, fabrics and artwork.  El Camino also offers a wide selection of moving and packing supplies as well as serving as an authorized U-haul dealer.   El Camino Self Storage is a Commercial Mail Receiving Agency, so please ask us about our postal boxes.
